How is the recovery after Hair Transplant Surgery ?
Day 1–3:
- Slight swelling and tightness around the forehead and donor area
- Tiny scabs start forming around each graft
- Frequent saline sprays and tilted sleeping position approx. 30° angle are critical
Day 4–7:
- Itching may start as healing progresses
- Scabs begin to fall naturally
- Pain is usually minimal and managed with given pain killers
- Patient can start working from home
Day 7
- Head wash is done at clinic or at home as per the instructions to remove scabs
- Patient can go out and resume in office work
- Patient can start light exercises
Day 10–14:
- Most redness and scabbing resolve
- Patients resume full fledged work and start activities like jogging etc
Week 3–4:
- Shedding phase begins — hairs shaft falls but roots stay intact inside the skin
- Scalp begins to look fully healed Month 3-4:
- New growth begins as follicles exit shedding phase
- Texture may be fine or slightly curly initially
Month 6-8:
- Results start appearing
- Hair start growing in length and thickness
Month 9–12:
- Full results begin to show
- Hair thickens and matures into natural density and shape
